Golf Fans Express Similar Frustrations With NBC's Third-Round Open Championship Coverage

A packed leaderboard has emerged at the 152nd Open Championship at Royal Troon, with 11 players currently within six strokes of leader Daniel Brown (-6) late in Saturday's third round.

Shane Lowry, the tournament leader after two rounds, has dropped all the way back to T8 after making three bogeys over the first five holes of his inward nine this afternoon.

Lowry's struggles on Saturday truly began at the famed 8th hole at Royal Troon - a 130-yard par 3 known as The Postage Stamp. He ultimately made a double-bogey 5 after hitting his tee shot into one of the brutal greenside bunkers.

Unfortunately for golf fans, one of the biggest moments from Saturday's third round didn't seem to be a focus for NBC's Open Championship coverage team. Immediately after the final pairing approached the 8th green, with both players in the dreaded coffin bunker, a commercial break ensued.

"Moment of the tournament so far with the final group both in the coffin bunker and here’s what we get," Schu posted on X.

The major coverage gaffe by NBC on the 8th hole Saturday left golf fans incredibly frustrated.

Many even switched away from NBC's coverage, instead opting for Sky Sports via Peacock.

Will you be tuning into NBC's final-round coverage of The Open Championship on Sunday?
