The couple recently shared the exciting news during an interview with CBS Sports. The baby boy was born on July 8, weighing a healthy 7 pounds, 8 ounces.

Expressing her happiness, Brittney, 33, couldn’t contain her excitement as she described her newborn son as amazing. “That’s my man. He is amazing,” Brittney said, noting she’ll be called “pops.” “They said as soon as you see them, everything that you thought mattered just goes out the window. That’s literally what happened.”

As we previously reported, in April, Brittney and Cherelle announced the pregnancy through a joint Instagram post. They expressed their anticipation and stated that they were less than three months away from meeting their “favorite human being” at the time. The post was accompanied by a photo of the couple holding hands beside sonogram images of their baby, along with the hashtags “#BabyGrinerComingSoon” and “#July2024.”

Balancing Personal and Professional Life:

Despite the excitement surrounding the birth of their son, Brittney acknowledged the challenges of being away from her newborn. She expressed her disappointment about having to leave for WNBA All-Star weekend in Phoenix, Arizona, and subsequently for the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she will represent Team USA for the third time. However, she remains optimistic that her son will understand the demands of her career.

The arrival of their baby brings a sense of joy and healing for the couple, who had faced a challenging year. In February 2022, Brittney made headlines when she was arrested on drug charges at a Moscow airport while playing for UMMC Ekaterinburg during the WNBA offseason. However, the U.S. State Department later confirmed that she had been wrongfully detained. Despite the ordeal, Brittney and Cherelle have stood strong together and are now embracing this new chapter in their lives.
