    Hey Coshocton County: Here’s what you need to know to start your week

    WEST LAFAYETTE − Cody Croy of Ridgewood Local Schools is the 2024 Nationwide Children's Hospital Columbus marathon and half marathon Mile Champion. He was nominated by teachers Jane Buehler and Penny Mast. Croy was born with spina bifida in 2007 and his first of 28 surgeries took place the day he was born.

    The nomination stated his peers respect, help and encourage Croy, drawn to his unassuming, modest, caring, witty, helpful and self-effacing nature. His resilience is evident in his academic dedication and his active participation in numerous activities. He excels in school, participates in the Special Olympics and Boys Scouts and is involved in various sports teams, including basketball and seated track.

    COSHOCTON − The fourth annual Community Fun Day will be 9 a.m. to noon Aug. 3 at Coshocton Regional Medical Center, 1460 Orange St.

    The event includes food, bounce houses, characters in costume, touch-a-truck and giveaways. The first 100 youth will receive a free T-shirt. There will also be free blood pressure and glucose screenings.

    COSHOCTON − Three Rivers Bassmasters recently held its sixth club tournament on the Muskingum River in Zanesville with 10 members and two guests competing. Winner was Greg Montgomery with 3.41 pounds. Bret Lingo was second and had the big bass at 2.9 pounds. Wilmer Eckelberry was third with 2.41 pounds.

    COSHOCTON − The Coshocton Community Band will present The Wild, Wild West concert at 7 p.m. July 26 at the Coshocton Court Square. Bring a chair. Guest singer on three songs will be Ron Barkett.

    COSHOCTON − The Coshocton-Fairfield-Licking-Perry Solid Waste District will have a policy committee meeting at 9 a.m. July 26 the Licking County Health Department. Business includes changes to committee by-laws and preparing the next plan update.

    COSHOCTON − Coshocton City Schools Board of Education will meet at 6:30 p.m. July 25 in the library of Coshocton Elementary School, 1203 Cambridge Road.

    COSHOCTON – A pet supply drive will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 26 at the Coshocton Public Health District. It's in partnership with the Coshocton Fire Department and Coshocton County Animal Shelter and Humane Animal Treatment Association. There will be a hot dog lunch while supplies last for any monetary or supply donations. Vendors will be present who offer grooming and other pet care.
