Colton Herta looking for redemption after multiple missed opportunities

Andretti Global driver Colton Herta.
Colton Herta has endured a two-year winless spell in IndyCar since taking victory at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course.
The Andretti driver has struggled over that period while watching his teammate Kyle Kirkwood take two victories in that time.
Herta has shown blistering speed in his IndyCar career, taking 14 pole positions, but has let himself down with a series of unforced errors.
On the streets of Detroit, the American misjudged an overtake on Alex Palou and ran into the runoff area. He dropped to the back of the field as frustration boiled over.
Earlier in his career, he also lost victories due to his own mistakes in Nashville and Long Beach, as his acrobatic style behind the wheel went over the limit.
Herta has discovered some form in more recent races, with a second-place finish at Laguna Seca and a pole position at Iowa last time out.
Toronto has also been a good venue for Herta, who has taken podiums in each of the past two years. The bumpy, narrow track suits his style on street circuits.
The 24-year-old has been the class of the field throughout IndyCar's trip to Canada, topping both practice sessions before romping to pole position.
Herta said his No. 26 car has been fast all weekend and is eager for his luck to change.
“We just need to (do) the same,” Herta said of maintaining his advantage on the 11-turn, 1.786-mile temporary street circuit, via Curt Cavin of indycar.com. “This (car) has been a rocket ship all weekend (and) really has the past few races. Luck hasn’t turned our way for a win yet, and I’m hoping it’s here.”
He will have tough competition from his Andretti teammate Kirkwood, who was one of the four drivers to break the 1:00 barrier in the Firestone Fast Six.
