A wildfire was threatening the Lyons Ferry State Park and fish hatchery in Franklin County on Sunday.

State firefighting help was authorized at the request of Scott Moore, fire chief for Franklin Fire District 2, according to the Washington State Fire Marshal’s Office.

At 9 a.m. Sunday the Washington State Patrol ordered aerial firefighting to help Eastern Washington firefighters on the ground.

The Davin Road Fire near Kahlotus started at about 7:30 a.m. Sunday and had burned about 500 acres by 10:30 a.m. The cause remains under investigation.

In addition to the park and fish hatchery, it was threatening rangeland and wheat fields as it burned in grass and brush.
