    Teen arrested in connection to fatal pedestrian crash in Fairfax County

    FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. ( DC News Now ) — The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) said it has arrested a teen in connection to a fatal pedestrian crash in Lorton on Saturday night.

    Police said that at about 10:30 p.m., they responded to the intersection of Lorton Road and Timarand Drive in Lorton for a man who was struck by a car.

    Officers said the man was taken to the hospital where he later died.

    Police identify woman killed in Montgomery County crash

    The man was identified as 35-year-old Jamar Caper of Alexandria.

    The driver of the car remained on the scene.

    Police said the driver of a Jeep was traveling east on Lorton Road near Timarand Drive, when at the intersection, Caper tried to cross Lorton Road and was struck by the driver of the Jeep.

    Officers arrested the 17-year-old driver for Driving Under the Influence of Drugs or Narcotics.

    The teen was taken to the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center and then released to their parents.
