(WGHP) — While showers have been ongoing in portions of the mountains and foothills today, the majority of the Piedmont Triad has remained dry. That looks to change heading into the late evening and early overnight hours. Rain looks to move into the Triad throughout Sunday evening with higher rain chances expected by late Sunday night.

A stationary front will bring these rain chances throughout the evening hours, with even more opportunities this week. Isolated to scattered flash flooding will remain possible throughout the majority of the week, especially in poor drainage areas or areas prone to flooding.

We wake up Monday morning in the low 70s with a few spotty showers possible but most of us dry. Scattered shower and thunderstorm chances return into the afternoon with high temperatures in the mid-80s.

The stalled front will bring rounds of isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms throughout this week. A cold front approaching on Thursday bringing a slight increase in rain/storm chances and a brief drop in temperatures.

Morning temperatures remain in the low 70s through Friday with afternoon temperatures in the mid 80s through Wednesday. High temperatures briefly fall into the low 80s on Thursday and Friday before returning to the mid-80s by the weekend.

For now, rain chances look to decrease into next weekend.
