A cat mom took to social media to test out a trick she heard that can "enrich" a cat's life, and it worked perfectly.
On July 11, 2024, TikTok user Rupert (@__rupert__) shared a video of the cute orange Persian trying something new thanks to his mom, and it's adorable. Take a look!
In a 20-second video, we meet a really cute orange Persian cat named Rupert who is trying out a new trick his mom picked up that is supposed to make his life a little more fun.

"Saw a TikTok that said to make each day different for your cat as enrichment," the text on the screen reads. And Rupert's mom plans to tackle that and her idea to make this day different is to build a fort.
In the clip, the camera is pointed to the couch and we can see Rupert's mom doing something special.
She places a large pillow midway through the couch and then she takes a blanket and drapes it over that pillow and the arm of the couch, to make like blanket tent like we used to make when we were kids.
Rupert was immediately interested in the new space and climbed right onto the couch under the blanket roof, and makes himself all happy and cozy right there.
"What should we do tomorrow?" the mom wrote in the video's caption. And people had a few suggestions.
One person wrote, "Teach him how to knit 🧶 your fav past time."
Another shared, "Make this into a series I need tips!"
Someone else added, "My Persian loves to make his own forts daily, so there’d be no point."
Another explained, "My cats love a blankie fort! Pillows, blankies, and many rooms."

Rupert seems like a really chill and calm cat, and it looks like he really did enjoy this random fun new twist to the day.
How to Enrich Your Cat's Life
According to the BCSPCA , having ways to enrich your cat at home and help keep them happy and not bored doesn't have to be with a whole lot of time. Mostly just some thoughtful ideas and making some time each day to give your cat some love.
"Living indoors is safer for cats because they don’t have to contend with things like traffic, temperature extremes or predators," the experts wrote.
"However, compared to the outdoors, an indoor environment can be very monotonous. As cat guardians, it’s essential to provide enrichment to engage their bodies and brains."
Other examples of how to enhance the life of your cat are to provide them with a lot of toys and cat nips, scratching posts, high places to perch, cardboard boxes and paper bags for them to play in, puzzle feeders , and a small fountain.
