Jennifer Lopez Listed the Achievements She Sees as Most Important

Jennifer Lopez has worked as an actor, dancer, and singer for years. She shared the accomplishments she sees as more important than her career.

Jennifer Lopez has enjoyed success in show business for years. She started as a dancer and, before long, was a success in the music and film industries. She has gone on tours and won awards. Still, she said that some of her biggest accomplishments have nothing to do with her career. Lopez shared what she sees as her biggest successes.

Lopez said that she has always felt a relentless drive to achieve because she has never felt that she fully fits in in show business.

“I’m not one of those media darlings,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “I didn’t get kissed into this business. I’m from the Bronx. I had to find my way, so I’ve always felt like I had to prove myself. Maybe that’s a good drive to have. I never settle for mediocre.”

This attitude has helped her maintain her position in show business for over two decades. While she is proud of what she does, she said that her biggest achievements have nothing to do with her career.

“Great performer, great actress, great producer,” she said when asked about her biggest strengths. “Most importantly, a great mother, great sister, and a great girlfriend. I’ve also been a great wife.”

She sees herself as a better actor than a singer

When listing her strengths, Lopez did not include her vocals. She thinks of herself as a better actor than a singer.

“I think I’m a really great performer,” she told Vanity Fair, adding, “I think I’m a really great actress. I feel confident in those things — that’s a better way to say it. I’m not as gifted a vocalist as some of the girls that are out there, but I know I communicate.”

She said her ex-husband, Marc Anthony, helped her feel more confident in her ability as a singer.

“When I think of great vocalists, I think of Marc [Anthony], of Luther Vandross, of Whitney Houston,” Lopez said. “But Marc has helped me a lot with this; he always said I had a beautiful voice and that it was better than I thought it was.”

Jennifer Lopez shared what she likes about motherhood

Lopez is the mother of twins, Max and Emme. She said there are many qualities she wants to pass onto them, including her work ethic. What she likes about motherhood, though, is the fact that her children teach her so much.

“The beauty of being a parent is that you think you’re going to teach them all these things, and you do. You pass on all the things that you know, all the knowledge you have,” she told Vogue in 2022. “But at the end of the day they wind up teaching you so much and reminding you of the things you need to know about life and how to love somebody and how to care for people, that in your 20s and 30s, as you’re doing your own thing, you can lose sight of. We get so self-centered at certain points in our lives when we have our goals and our things.”
