A'ja Wilson's WNBA All-Star Moment With Angel Reese Raises Eyebrows

Angel Reese played a pivotal role in Team WNBA's stunning 117-109 win over Team USA on Saturday, becoming the first player ever to record a double-double in the WNBA All-Star Game.

As impressive and impactful as her performance was at Footprint Center, it hardly came as a surprise. The Chicago Sky rookie, after all, recently set a new WNBA record by notching 15 straight games of at least 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Las Vegas Aces superstar and Team USA counterpart A'ja Wilson no doubt had that reality in mind while voicing her displeasure at matching up against Reese during Sunday's showcase.

Fans couldn't help but take note of Wilson's amusing on-court demeanor, either.

Wilson's tone was a bit different after the final buzzer. Team USA's eyebrow-raising defeat marked the second straight time it has been bested by Team WNBA in the WNBA All-Star Game.

Wilson scored just six points the last time the Olympians faced off against their WNBA foes in 2021. The two-time reigning WNBA Finals MVP fared much better on Sunday, scoring 22 points, grabbing six rebounds and handing out three assists.

Reese got the last laugh, though, finishing with 12 points and 11 boards in just 18 minutes off the bench during Team WNBA's victory—yet another reminder of the league's major and ongoing infusion of talent during its most successful season ever.
