Ederson 'curious' about Premier League as Liverpool linked with transfer move

Atalanta midfielder Ederson has revealed he is "curious about the Premier League " amid speculation around his future .

The 25-year-old, who helped Atalanta claim Europa League glory by beating ex-Reds midfielder Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen in Dublin back in May, enjoyed a stellar campaign last term, earning himself his international debut and playing at the Copa America for Brazil alongside Liverpool star Alisson.

A robust box-to-box midfielder, Ederson is a midfielder who can get up and down the pitch well, utilising his engine to cover plenty of ground. The Brazilian has also developed an eye for goal this past season, scoring seven goals for Atalanta last term.

His strong season has seen the midfielder linked with the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle United this summer. Just last week, transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano claimed the Reds were keen on Ederson, although nothing concrete had emerged. And it appears as though Ederson could be open to a move to the Premier League.

Speaking to Spanish outlet Diario AS, Ederson confirmed that while he was "very happy" at Atalanta, who will be playing Champions League football this season, he is "curious about the Premier League".

"I am very happy at Atalanta. I just won a great title, I am very well-integrated," Ederson said, confirming he would be fine to remain in Italy.

"My future is something that doesn’t worry me. What worries me right now is doing well here with the Brazilian team, leaving a positive impression because it is my first call-up. Making sure everyone knows me here just like everyone knows me in Italy. I am very focused, very happy, trying to make the most of this moment with the national team."

He then added when asked about what league he thinks best suits his play style: "I don’t know, I’ve thought about it a lot, I like Italy, I’m well adapted, but I’m curious about the Premier League , so I don’t know.

"I’m still growing, so I don’t know if I’ll stay in Italy, I think I still have more to prove. If I go somewhere else, then too. I will continue to grow."
