KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, Ind. — Residents in the area are experiencing significant disruptions in emergency services as local dispatch centers grapple with 911 outages. The glitch, potentially linked to a global Microsoft 365 outage, has caused varying levels of impact across several counties.

Kosciusko County dispatch is still able to receive 911 calls; however, they advise that sending text messages to 911 is currently the most reliable method of contact.

Cass County and Fulton County dispatch centers are operating on backup systems and report no interruptions in 911 call reception. Meanwhile, LaGrange County dispatch can receive calls but is facing computer system disruptions, adding complexity to their response capabilities.

The St. Joseph County Sheriff's Office remains unaffected in terms of call reception, yet their jail facilities are experiencing outages. Similarly, the City of Elkhart and the Elkhart Police Department are managing their operations on backup systems, dealing with some outages but maintaining 911 call functionality.

The outages come as Microsoft grapples with a global disruption affecting Microsoft 365 apps and services, raising concerns about the broader impact on emergency services.
