The island of Nantucket off the scenic coast of Cape Cod in Massachusetts, known for its fabulous seafood served in quaint eateries, pristine beaches, and historic shingle-sided homes , has been a popular summer escape since the 1950s. Now, just in time to enjoy the remainder of the summer, you can snag a stunning shingle-style property that exudes quintessential New England charm.
Listed for $15.25 million, this property on Nonantum Avenue , lined with multimillion-dollar estates, just hit the market. The sellers are Nancy Dubuc, who served five years as the CEO of Vice Media, and her husband, Michael Kizilbash. Located on a flat, one-acre parcel of land, the various structures that comprise the compound were completed in 2015. In addition to the main house, there’s a guest house, a pool cabana, and a two-car garage with a studio apartment for overflow guests or staff. In total, there are six bedrooms, six bathrooms, and three powder rooms.
The contemporary interiors blend timeless elegance with modern comforts. With stark-white walls, French windows, wide-plank wood floors, and lofty vaulted ceilings, the contemporary interiors of the various buildings are open, airy, and flooded with natural light. The home was designed by Nantucket-based architect Luke Thornewill , with interiors by Tanya McQueen Forman, who has appeared on “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.”
The living room is in its own wing, lined with French doors and windows, complete with a fireplace with an abstract floor-to-ceiling surround, a games table, and ample seating area. The main level also houses the modern kitchen, which has soaring ceilings, large windows overlooking the backyard, tiled walls, and an eat-in kitchen island. Off the kitchen is a large dining room with a built-in banquette and spacious eating area, as well as a separate media room/sitting area. There are three en suite bedrooms filtered throughout the rambling residence’s two floors. Ideal for hosting large groups, there’s also a kid’s bunk room, a lower-level living space, and a games room. From the second floor, there are views of Surfside Beach, while a small widow’s walk is perfect for watching the sun set over the ocean.
The nearby guest house, ideal for added privacy when additional guests or family members are in town, has three bedrooms and three bathrooms, plus a powder room. The open-plan great room houses the living area, kitchen, and dining area. The primary bedroom spills onto a spacious terrace, and there’s another bunk room with four beds.
An additional living space, a studio apartment, is attached to the detached two-car garage. Alongside the oval swimming pool and integrated hot tub, the final structure, the pool cabana, has a pool bath, a specialty pizza oven, and a lovely patio. Other amenities include a circular swimming pool with an integrated hot tub, a pool cabana with a bathroom, a specialty pizza oven, and a lovely patio. Access to the beach and ocean is a short drive away.
