Middletown, Conn./WTIC Radio - Fire officials in Middletown say four people--two adults and two children--were injured in a fire Sunday night.

The call came in around 8:00 p.m.

The fire broke out in a multi-family dwelling on Durham Avenue.

Fire officials say they were alerted that people may have been trapped.

Those residents wound up jumping from a second floor aided by neighbors, according to fire officials.

They were taken to the hospital for treatment for minor injuries and smoke inhalation.

Firefighters also located and rescued three dogs.

They had the fire knocked down in about 30 minutes.

Five in all were displaced and the Red Cross is assisting them.

    The fire remains under investigation.
