Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk was spotted alongside Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne in Ibiza over the weekend as the pair partied with world-renowned DJ Calvin Harris. Both players remain on an extended period of leave following their exploits for the Netherlands and Belgium at Euro 2024 this summer

Van Dijk captained his nation to the semi-finals of the competition in Germany but fell short following a 2-1 defeat to England earlier this month, although he appears to have brushed any worries to the side in a photo uploaded to Harris' Instagram .

Van Dijk can be seen posing alongside Harris and De Bruyne at Ushuaia Ibiza, a famous venue on the Spanish party island, as the trio dance the night away. Like the 33-year-old, the Man City superstar is also enjoying some well-deserved time off following Belgium's last 16 exit at Euro 2024.

And both players appeared to be in good spirits as they smiled for the camera at the dimly lit nightclub over the weekend, with both putting their club football on hold for a little while longer before finally making a return ahead of the 2023-24 season.

Van Dijk had already been spotted posing alongside NBA superstar LeBron James at a London event for the launch of Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre's new Gin & Juice drink just a few days before, with Eminem also making a special appearance in the capital.

Partying alongside a host of A-list stars at Flipper’s Roller Boogie Palace in Shepherd’s Bush, the Dutchman once again enjoyed himself on the red carpet where he was joined by the likes of Jude Bellingham, Idris Elba, Jeremy Renner and Shaquille O’Neal. LeBron was also there, and had time to meet up with Liverpool's captain as the pair were pictured together.

It remains to be seen when Van Dijk will return to Merseyside to begin his pre-season preparations ahead of the new campaign, but it's expected he will continue enjoying his extended period of leave for a little longer yet.

Liverpool is due to travel to the United States for three pre-season fixtures later this week but there is every chance that Van Dijk will make the trip across the Atlantic at a later date, to ensure he still joins up with his Reds teammates.

Slot's side will take on Real Betis at the Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh on Friday, July 26, to officially open their pre-season account, before heading to Philadelphia for their all-Premier League clash with Arsenal at the Lincoln Financial Field on Wednesday, July 31. The tour will end with a fixture against Manchester United at the Williams–Brice Stadium in Columbia on Saturday, August 3.
