The Dallas Cowboys will begin training camp on Wednesday, with the team arriving in Oxnard on Tuesday. However, there will be one notable omission from the team for the first days of camp - team owner Jerry Jones.

Jones is in the midst of a paternity trial in Texarkana where he is scheduled to take the stand on Monday. With the trial reported to last an expected four to five days, Jones will be absent from the team for the start of camp, and his season-opening press conference will be delayed.

The longtime Cowboys’ owner is counter suing a woman claiming to be his daughter for breaking a contract signed by her mother 26 years ago.

This is just another distraction for the Cowboys in a long line of distractions that has littered the 2024 offseason. Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, and Micah Parsons are all without long-term extensions, the former two of which are set to be free agents in 2025.
