Jacksonville State University Bids Farewell to Jack Hopper Dining Hall

Jacksonville, AL – Today marks the final day for the beloved Jack Hopper Dining Hall at Jacksonville State University, which will close its doors at 6 p.m. after 62 years of service. The closure paves the way for the grand opening of a new, state-of-the-art dining facility on Tuesday, July 23 at 7 a.m.

Located next to Curtiss Hall, the new dining hall boasts a larger dining space, an executive dining room, and administrative offices. The modern facility features a traditional food line with several concept stations and a full preparation kitchen. The contemporary seating environment is designed to provide students with a welcoming space to connect and enjoy meals together.

Faculty and staff can also take advantage of the new dining hall’s offerings by purchasing meals online through the Jax State website, accessible via desktop or mobile devices.

As the campus community prepares to transition to the new dining hall, a university committee is diligently working on repurposing plans for the Jack Hopper Dining Hall. The aim is to honor its legacy and continue to serve Jax State students in a meaningful way.
