According to CHP, drivers who are impaired can expect jail time, license suspension, insurance increases, fines, and DUI classes.

Per the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, impaired driving includes driving under the influence of alcohol, marijuana, illegal drugs, and prescription and over-the-counter medicines labeled with warnings against “operating heavy machinery.”

CHP asks those who see what they suspect to be impaired driving to call 9-1-1.
