    1 man arrested for 5 burglaries, Fairfax County police say

    FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. ( DC News Now ) — The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) said it arrested a man in connection to five Hybla Valley burglaries.

    Just before 8 a.m. on Saturday, FCPD responded to a burglary in progress at Mount Vernon Plaza in the 7600 block of Richmond Highway. A victim who was monitoring video footage told officers the suspect was still inside.

    Police at the scene found 22-year-old Gabriel Lynch at the shopping center with stolen items.

    Detectives said Lynch entered the building through an unlocked roof fire hatch. He then burglarized five businesses within the plaza.

    He was arrested and charged with five counts of Burglary, Misdemeanor Destruction of Private Property and Grand Larceny. He was being held at the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center without bond.
