“Aren’t You Supposed To Be All Peace, Love & Inclusivity?” – Brittany Aldean On Maren Morris Attacking Her While Claiming To Be “Pro-Woman”

Calling out the hypocrisy. Of course by now the history between Maren Morris and Brittany Aldean, the wife of country singer Jason Aldean, has been well documented. In case you need a quick refresher, Brittany shared a video of herself putting on makeup with the caption: "I'd really like to thank my parents for not changing my gender when I went through my tomboy phase. I love this girly life" Maren Morris responded to a post from fellow country singer Cassadee Pope by calling Brittany "Insurrection Barbie." "It's so easy to, like, not be a scumbag human? Sell your clip-ons and zip it, insurrection Barbie." Brittany then jumped on the comments, responding by calling her "Karen Morris" and launching a new clothing line, Tucker Carlson got involved, Maren trolled Tucker...it was a big thing. So it's safe to say they're not big fans of each other, though other than their comments on social media, they've never really discussed their feud - or each other - publicly. But Jason and Brittany recently made an appearance on the Try That In A Small Town podcast (named, of course, after Jason's #1 song and hosted by the song's co-writers) where Brittany was asked about the controversy. And she didn't hold back, calling Maren out for her hypocrisy in claiming to be "pro-woman" while at the same time attacking another woman's business because of her political views. "She's got a group of friends here in Nashville that they just, have it out for me for whatever reason. To be so pro-woman and all the bullshit - you're not, because I've never said a word to you and you come for me why? Because I'm an easy target because I'm a wife, and I don't have a stage as a platform, but I have social media? For some reason I offend them." Brittany then explained her post that drew the ire of Maren, while reiterating that she remains thankful that her parents didn't try to convince her to change her gender just because she was a tomboy as a child: "I just said that. Thank the Lord my parents allowed me to go through my tomboy phase without changing my gender, because it's so common these days. And y'all, it was World War III at that point... She started to make fun of my business, which at the time was hair extensions. But to me it's like, once again, going back to the feminist movement, aren't you supposed to be all peace, love and all inclusivity and all the things? Why are you coming for me like that about my business? I don't need to work. I choose to work. Let's do that too. I am a working woman who doesn't have to, who wants to provide for my children and my family, and that should be something to be proud of, not put down."
