FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. ( KSEE/KGPE ) – Several areas among Fresno and Kings counties will be affected by the transportation of concrete girders for the California High-Speed Rail project, officials announced.

According to the California High-Speed Rail Authority and Dragados-Flatiron Joint Venture, intermittent traffic due to scheduled work will impact Grangeville Boulevard, Highway 43, Excelsior, Marks, Elkhorn, Fowler, and Clarkson Avenues in Fresno and Kings counties to transport pre-cast concrete girders to a high-speed rail construction site.

Officials say work is scheduled from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday. The girders will be transported west on Grangeville Boulevard, north Highway 43, west on Excelsior Avenue, north on Marks Avenue, east on Elkhorn Avenue, north on Fowler Avenue and then west on Clarkson Avenue to Minnewawa Avenue.

Because of this, drivers may experience delays. Officials say all construction activities and schedules are subject to change.
