Indulging in hotel room service is a cherished luxury for travelers, offering a moment of decadence or a much-needed reprieve amidst flight cancellations or long haul layovers. Whether you’re treating yourself to the quintessential club sando or delighting in crispy chicken tendies, there’s a certain level of comfort, decadence, and satisfaction that comes from indulging in a room service while living the #robelife. There’s something irresistibly alluring about those mini bottles of Tabasco and the defiant nature of enjoying it all in bed. These are the quintessential room service orders ranked by our staff here at Sunset.

    1. Club Sandwich

There’s no arguing that a club is a superior sandwich. Packed with bacon, tomato, turkey, and lettuce, even when it’s a bad one its good. The visuals of this stacked tower of power is even better if you add avocado. One writer has even dedicated his life to finding the best in the world, and we can’t argue with the fact that one of them is right here in the West— the Langham Huntington Pasadena . 10/10, no notes.

    2. Caesar and Fries

A power order both in and outside the confines of a hotel room, there’s something perfectly balanced about the combination of a salad and fries. And the Caesar has the potential to be the apex of orders. The salad actually originates here in the West, too. Created by an Italian immigrant and restaurateur in Tijuana on July 4, 1924, the Caesar has had some real staying power. I’m a savage and order mine with extra anchovies if they’re available. What can I say, I’m a tinned fish girlie .

    3. American Breakfast

It’s hard to beat a classic American breakfast. The combo of pancakes, eggs, hash brows, and a side of bacon or sausage (or as we prefer to do it, a 50/50 combo thereof) may be a gut buster but it’s well-worth it.

    4. Chicken Tenders

Alix Earle is not wrong in her TikTok obsession with the tendies. The nostalgia factor is high here, and you can’t beat the combo of carbs and protein to right the wrongs of a bad travel day, or a wild night out.

    5. Steak Frites

This totally decadent option is our editor-in-chief Hugh Garvey’s favorite and for good reason. If there was ever a time to engage in an indulgent meal, why not have it be in a robe? And while it’s true that cooking a perfect steak is an art form, most hotels can handle doing a decent job at this French brasserie classic. Even better if there’s a martini on the menu, too.
