Located close to the U.S., in the Kootenay Mountains, the resort recently announced something for those looking for adventure when ski season is not in session: a brand-new, summer bike park.
Officials at the resort posted a teaser picture to Instagram, writing "we’re beyond stoked to announce that construction has already begun on the new lift-accessed RED Mountain Bike Park, set to open Summer 2025." See below.
This bike park is set to be a multi-year, multimillion-dollar lift-accessed bike park.
In a press release from Red Mountain resort, Howard Katkov, CEO and Owner of RED Mountain Resort, said, "we are thrilled to announce the development of the RED Mountain Bike Park, marking not just a pivotal moment in our commitment to offering year-round adventure, but building upon and supporting the already deep culture of biking here in the region."

For this project, Red Mountain has partnered with Gravity Logic , a leading expert in bike park design and development.
Gravity Logic has built bike parks around the world and has worked for BC Parks, Whistler, BC, Aspen/Snowmass in Colorado, Copper Mountain, CO, Snowbird, UT, and Timberline Resort, OR, to name a few.
The four year plan begins with the Silverlode Chair, where access to terrain will include single track, jump and flow trails for bikers of all skill levels.
RED’s goal for their trail network is to promote progression through varied terrain, allowing beginners to get comfortable biking, and for experts to advance through challenges in more difficult terrain.
Andrew Lunt, RED Mountain Resort General Manager, said, “we are incredibly excited to partner with Gravity Logic. Their unparalleled experience, including iconic projects like Whistler’s bike park and involvement in over 70 other bike parks across the globe, ensures that each phase of development will deliver world-class trails for all levels of riders.”

As part of the future vision of the bike park, RED is planning community trail support in the Rossland area, with "extensive plans to continue its strategic partnership with the Kootenay Columbia Trails Society directly through several Bike Park initiatives."

RED Mountain has also partnered with Rocky Mountain , a bike company, to provide a rental bike fleet at the mountain base, for those who cannot or do not want to bring their own. The resort will also be introducing summer programs, lessons, and events for all ages and skill levels.
All in all, this is a promising expansion project offering outdoor summer recreation opportunities to those in the area.
