Angel Reese Ignites Spirited Social Media Debate Between Two WNBA All-Stars

Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese has endeared herself to basketball fans over the course of what has been an incredible debut campaign in the WNBA. So much so, that even the biggest stars in the league are fussing over her on social media.

This is the case for former Los Angeles Sparks teammates Dearica Hamby and Nneka Ogwumike. It all started when Ogwumike responded to a random tweet claiming that Hamby had taken over as Reese's maternal figure in the WNBA. Ogwumike clapped back by sharing a sweet photo of herself and Reese sitting together on the bench during the recently concluded WNBA All-Star Game.

Hamby then brought out a receipt to prove that she was, indeed, Reese's "momma."

"Hate to tell yall. :/ she literally calls me mom. 😂😂," tweeted the Los Angeles Sparks All-Star.

Not to be outdone, Ogwumike, who is now in her first season with the Seattle Storm following a 12-year stint with Los Angeles, delivered one final jab to close out the friendly banter.

"D, take your Olympian ass to bed 🤣," Ogwumike responded.

This spirited argument between these two bona fide All-Stars was all in good fun. However, it just goes to show the extent of Reese's popularity -- even among her peers.
