Alaska has been named the US state with the highest rate of drunk-driving arrests, according to a study by High Rise Legal Funding, as shown in this interactive map. The research, which used 2022 data from the FBI's Crime Data Explorer database, found that Alaska had the most DUI arrests per person, with a rate of 726.13 per 100,000 people.

In contrast, California had the highest total number of DUIs, with nearly 100,000 arrests in one year. Delaware had the lowest DUI arrest rate at 30.34 per 100,000 people, according to the maps data . South Dakota and Pennsylvania also ranked highly for DUI arrests, with rates of 718.53 and 526.28 per 100,000 people respectively.

The map shows that California ranks sixth in the list of states with the highest rate of DUI arrests, recording 479.61 per 100,000 people. This makes it one of the most perilous states to drive in due to heavy traffic and a high volume of daily commutes.
