SANTA FE, N.M. — The New Mexico Department of Health announced a new marketing campaign, “Free to Provide,” to highlight the freedom that medical providers in New Mexico have to provide medical care and services that are restricted in other states.

According to officials, the goal of the campaign is to attract medical professionals from other states to New Mexico.

“Providing health care is hard everywhere,” said Patrick Allen, NMHealth Secretary. “The legal and political environment in Texas and other states is making even harder. We think there’s an opportunity to let providers know in New Mexico they can deliver care without the local sheriff or district attorney looking over their shoulder to second guess their medical judgment.”

The campaign will run in metropolitan areas in Texas and Arizona, said officials. The campaign will consist of paid online advertising, billboards and a website.

Officials noted the campaign highlights cultural, environmental, educational and recreational opportunities, including:

    • Tax incentives
    • Health professional loan repayment
    • Education
    • Work-life balance
    • New Mexico’s strong cultural heritage

Further, organizations and individuals interested in being listed in th campaign recruitment directory can fill out an online form here, said officials.
