New Almost Heaven swing added to Snowshoe Mountain in West Virginia

SNOWSHOE, W.Va. (WBOY) — Snowshoe Mountain visitors can now swing on top of one of the highest peaks in West Virginia.

The 26th Almost Heaven swing has been added to the top of Snowshoe Mountain at the Skidder Ski Slope, just a short walk from the Village, according to a press release.

According to WV Tourism Secretary Chelsey Ruby, the new swing is in an area that’s surrounded by outdoor adventure and family-friendly activities.

The swings are a project by West Virginia’s Department of Tourism (WV Tourism) to highlight some of the best photo opportunities around the state. Originally, there were nine swings , but with the addition of Snowshoe, there are now 26.

“As you travel around our state, you’ll find that these swings aren’t placed just anywhere. They’re found exclusively in places that exemplify the beauty of West Virginia, places where you can fully experience Almost Heaven. To have one here on our mountain at Snowshoe is truly an honor,” Snowshoe President and COO Mountain Patti Duncan said in the release.
