Woman Dies After Pontoon Boat Propeller Accident On Florida River

Marion County, FL - A tragic accident claimed the life of a woman who was struck by a boat propeller on Sunday near Nelson’s Fish Camp in Marion County.

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), eight people were on board a pontoon boat when a woman went overboard and was struck by the vessel’s propeller near Umatilla.

Emergency personnel transported the woman to a local hospital, but she was pronounced dead en route.

The agency released a statement following the woman's death, stating “The FWC expresses its deepest condolences to the victim’s family and loved ones."

FWC officials are currently investigating the incident.
