CLEVELAND (WKBN) — The Ohio Lottery announced record-breaking sales and profits for Fiscal Year 2024 and the highest-ever transfer of funds to education in Ohio.

A record $1.51 billion in lottery profits was handed over to the Lottery Profits Education Fund, which supports K-12, vocational and special education programs in Ohio, nearly $50 million more than last year.

Scratch-off sales from kiosks also set a record reaching $633.3 million, an increase of $50.1 million. All kiosk sales totaled $1.37 billion.

Daily draw games reached $763.3 million, $29.1 million more than last year, and multi-state games Powerball and Mega Millions and Lucky for Life surpassed the previous year’s sales with $488.5 million, driven by record Mega Millions and Powerball jackpots in July 2023.

Ohio Lottery players won over $3 billion in prizes, setting a record at $116 million more than the previous year.

All the above figures are preliminary and unaudited. Audited figures are expected to be released in October.
