Zach Top is the TRUTH. The Washington native is currently in the midst of a breakout year on the heels of his sophomore studio album Cold Beer & Country Music, and he's essentially leading the charge of this '90s neo-traditional revival that is happening in the country music world right now. Artists like Randall King, Jake Worthington, and now, Zach Top (among others) have catapulted into the spotlight in the past few years with a sound that harkens back to the glory days of Alan Jackson, Keith Whitley, Mark Chesnutt, and many more of the artists from the late '80s and early '90s that we all know and love. And not only does Zach have that silky smooth twang... the man can PICK like nobody's business, and is a skilled songwriter as well. A triple threat of country music talent. Dare I say... it's kinda refreshing right now? At least compared to anything coming out of Nashville... "Nobody In His Right Mind Would've Left Her" was written and first released by the great country music songwriter Dean Dillon in 1980, where it broke into the Top 25 on the country radio charts. It was then recorded by Keith Whitley for his 1985
LA To Miami album, although it was never released as a single. The following year, the great George Strait recorded it (as he did with many other Dean Dillon songs) for his #7 album, where it was released as the lead single. The song kicked off a run of 11 straight #1 singles for King George, earning a spot on his 1987 Greatest Hits: Volume Two record. Ask any group of country music fans about their favorite George Strait song, and you'll undoubtedly find this song at the top of many lists... it's a classic. Zach got behind the camera for a quick acoustic cover, and my God, did he just knock it out of the park. No bells and whistles, just good old fashioned country music from one of the genre's rising stars.... you gotta love it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P1l1EbTsA4I We can't be talking George Strait without including his recording of this country music classic, so feel feel... no, feel encouraged to give it a listen. You'll be glad you did. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ICgM0HAaTQ&pp=ygUqbm9ib2R5IGluIGhpcyByaWdodCBtaW5kIHdvdWxkJ3ZlIGxlZnQgaGVy And Keith Whitley deep cut version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_ClOLd2ZKk&pp=ygUqbm9ib2R5IGluIGhpcyByaWdodCBtaW5kIHdvdWxkJ3ZlIGxlZnQgaGVy
