Saturday’s WNBA All-Star was the third-most watched telecast in league history, more than doubling the previous record for the event.

This season has been defined largely by the record-setting viewership fueled by the arrival of the 2024 draft class — which includes stars Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese . Clark and the Indiana Fever have been involved in new ratings records across several different networks. When the Fever took on Reese and the Chicago Sky in a thrilling game that went down to the wire, it became the league’s most-watched game in more than 20 years .

On Saturday, Reese and Clark teamed up for the first time in their basketball careers as WNBA All-Stars. Led by Dallas Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale , the All-Stars defeated the U.S. women’s national team in dominating fashion.

According to a report from Front Office Sports , the game drew 3.44 million viewers. The previous record for the All-Star Game, set in 2003, was 1.44 million. Additionally, this year’s numbers are 300% increase from the 2023 All-Star Game.

This year’s All-Star game managed to attract the third-largest audience in the league’s history. Based on data from Sports Media Watch , the game is behind just a pair of games that were played during the WNBA’s inaugural weekend in 1997. The league’s all-time record — which saw more than 5 million people watching the New York Liberty and Los Angeles Sparks on June 21, 1997 — is still a ways away.
