Fans Love 'the Magic' in Kelly Clarkson's Voice in Latest Kellyoke Cover: 'Crushed It'

Thanks to The Kelly Clarkson Show 's popular "Kellyoke" segment, Kelly Clarkson is known for her ability to sing just about any song by any artist—and one recent performance is particularly blowing fans away.

On Monday, July 22, Clarkson belted out a cover of Romy 's "She's on My Mind" for the live studio audience, and people were definitely impressed with her version of the disco-influenced hit.

"Cool song. Never heard it before, but Kelly crushed it. Wow!" wrote one commenter on YouTube, while another said they loved "the magic" in her voice.

Clarkson is known for her wide range of covers from all genres, with Kellyoke performances from earlier this month including Amy Grant ’s “Baby, Baby," Tony Bennett ’s “(I Left My Heart) In San Francisco," and "Angel" by Aerosmith.

The series has been such a hit with music lovers that Clarkson even released a Kellyoke EP in June 2022, which featured six of the star's favorite covers. In a statement to Billboard , Clark explained that “Music is in the DNA of everything I do, so when The Kelly Clarkson Show started we knew it was the perfect way to kick off every episode. Over 500 songs later, and we’re still not running out of amazing artists to pay tribute to.”

"She’s On My Mind" is the closing track on Romy’s debut solo LP "Mid Air." Per NME , the album was reportedly “conceived as a 'love letter' to the queer clubs where London-born Romy blossomed as a teenager, it’s a nostalgic but box-fresh dance album that taps into a deep well of feeling.”
