    Temporary burn ban in place in Bedford County

    BEDFORD COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Due to dry conditions, Bedford County has temporarily issued a burn ban.

    Through Act No. 1995-52, the county will temporarily issue a burn ban for 30 days, which was adopted on July 17 and implemented on July 19.

    The burn ban is in place on all open fires in the county. Open burning is defined as the ignition and subsequent burning of any combustible material.

    Anyone who violates this act commits a summary offense and shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to any fine of not more than $100 for the first offense, $200 for the second and $300 for the third offense.
