CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Video visitation access has been expanded at a Virginia Department of Corrections (VADOC) correctional center in Chesterfield County.

In a July 23 press release, the VADOC announced that the Central Virginia Correctional Unit 13, located on Courthouse Road, is the most recent correctional center to receive this expansion.

VADOC stated that every living area within the Chesterfield facility is now equipped with video visitation.

Those wanting to get in contact with someone at the facility can do so during regular operating hours, which are from 9 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. on weekends.

If an appointment was scheduled prior to this update — which went live on July 18 — and it falls outside of these new hours, it will need to be rescheduled. No video visitation will be available when the facility is on lockdown.

“If two inmates in the same living area are scheduled for a visit simultaneously, one visit will remain and the other will be canceled,” the VADOC release reads. “For the canceled visit, the visitor can reschedule their visit in the Visitation Scheduler.”

That visitation scheduler is located here .

Other Central Virginia VADOC facilities that have expanded video visitation access this year include the Sussex I State Prison in Sussex County, as well as the State Farm Work Center and the State Farm Correctional Center , both located in Powhatan County,
