    Cause of Clint Eastwood's partner Christina Sandera's death revealed after star's sad statement

    Days after the death of Clint Eastwood's long-term partner Christina Sandera, her cause of death has been revealed.

    The 61-year-old was in a relationship with the 94-year-old actor for over ten years. On July 18, Clint released a statement which confirmed her death.

    "Christina was a lovely, caring woman, and I will miss her very much," he said. And now her cause of death has been declared to be a heart attack. The cause of death was confirmed by a representative from the Monterey County Health Department to the New York Post . Her death certificate listed the immediate cause of death as a cardiac arrhythmia which causes the heart to beat irregularly.

    An additional condition was listed as atherosclerotic coronary artery disease, which is when plaque builds up in artery walls. This can form a blood clot which can lead to a heart attack or stroke.

    Clint and Christina have kept their relationship private but started dating in 2014. The two reportedly met when she worked as a hostess at Clint's Mission Ranch Hotel and Restaurant in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California. The actor first bought the hotel in 1986 and renovated it into a lavish resort.

    Both Clint and Christina lived in Carmel, where Clint was mayor for two years after he was elected in 1986. They made their first red carpet debut in 2015 at the 87th Academy Awards.

    That year at the Oscars, American Sniper was up for six awards including Best Picture and Best Actor. Clint directed and co-produced the film that starred Bradley Cooper. It's only Oscar win was for Best Sound Editing.

    Christina attended various other red carpets with Clint including The Mule (2018), The 15:17 to Paris (2018) and Richard Jewell (2019). They've also been seen together at Cannes Film Festival.

    Before dating Christina, Clint was married twice before. He married model Maggie Johnson in 1953 until they split in 1964 but didn't officially divorce until 1984. He then married Dina Ruiz in 1996 and the two divorced in 2014.
