Mike Trout's 2024 season has been hellish. The star hitter was out since late April due to a torn meniscus. After undergoing surgery, the plan was for the Los Angeles Angels star to hop on their minor league system to get some game experience.

However, in just his first rehab stint, Trout was pulled from the game after just two innings. Alden Gonzales made the surprising report about the Angels star, as well as a dim update on his future plans.

"Mike Trout was removed from his first Triple-A rehab game after two innings with soreness in his surgically repaired left knee, the Angels announced," Gonzales posted.

"The expectation was that he would return by week’s end. That might no longer be the case, though that part is unclear," he continued.

Trout is one of the greatest baseball players of all-time. A consistent MVP candidate in his prime, the Angels star has been plagued by injuries for the last three or four years.

The Angels have a 43-57 record in the 2024 season. That could very well factor in the team's decision to bring back the star hitter.
