Team USA captain Keegan Bradley has unveiled his vice-captain for the 2025 Ryder Cup but it isn't 15-time major winner Tiger Woods .
Appointed two weeks ago, Bradley has wasted no time in getting his team in order and has announced his first major decision that 2012 U.S. Open champ Webb Simpson will be his right-hand man. Bradley's decision is his first big call since he was named captain after Woods turned it down .
The 38-year-old is a three-time Ryder Cup entrant but is yet to taste success in the tournament as part of defeated US teams in 2012, 2014, and 2018. Simpson will enter the competition looking to improve his 4-4-1 record in his previous campaigns. Speaking about his decision, Bradley said: "Webb is someone who I have long admired and respected as a competitor and friend.

"He possesses a wealth of team golf experience and knows what it takes to win. Webb will be a valuable member of our leadership team and a trusted resource for me as we prepare for Bethpage Black next September."
Simpson is a seven-time PGA Tour winner and has appeared three times at the Presidents Cup. And his experience has seen him established as a popular mentor for the younger players. "I am honored to be chosen by Keegan to serve as a Vice Captain in 2025," Simpson said. "Competing in three Ryder Cups will forever be among my career highlights.

"I have no doubt that Keegan will be a fantastic captain and a tremendous leader and could not be more excited to get to work as we seek to reclaim the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black."
Wood previously rejected the chance to captain the US team and has been candid about his hesitation to take on the Ryder Cup responsibility, citing his involvement with the PGA Tour's dealings with the LIV Golf-investing Saudi Public Investment Fund as a significant time commitment.
"There's nothing that has been confirmed yet. We're still working on what that might look like. Also whether or not I have the time to do it. I'm dedicating my so much time to what we're doing with the PGA Tour, I don't want to not fulfill the role of the captaincy if I can't do it," Woods explained.
"What that all entails and representing Team USA and the commitments to the PGA of America, the players, and the fans and as I said, all of Team USA. I need to feel that I can give the amount of time that it deserves."
Additional vice-captains for both teams will be named at a later date, meaning the door still remains open for Woods to potentially step into a leadership role. Meanwhile, Team Europe's captain Luke Donald has brought Edoardo Molinari back as his first vice-captain, following their 2023 victory together.
