    Montgomery County police investigating shots fired into Germantown home

    GERMANTOWN, Md. ( DC News Now ) — Officers in Montgomery County are asking for the community’s help in identifying a group of people after someone fired shots at a home in Germantown on July 17.

    According to the Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD), the shooting took place around 11:20 p.m. in the 20500 block of Staffordshire Drive.

    Police: Man hurt in early morning Southeast DC shooting

    During the investigation, detectives obtained surveillance video and learned that five people were walking on the sidewalk when one of them took out a gun and started shooting. The group then ran away.

    Police said that the gunfire struck the home, and officers recovered shell casings at the scene.
