Daniel Jones injury: Giants update ACL recovery, training camp workload

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has been fully cleared for contact at training camp.

Recovering from surgery to repair a torn ACL last November, Jones was limited to 7-on-7 reps during the spring.

That won't be the case for the Giants' starting quarterback at training camp, though, and head coach Brian Daboll made it clear Jones will take every first-team rep.

This is encouraging news for Jones, who enters a crucial year in his career. Following a disastrous 2023 campaign that resulted in regression and injury, Jones needs to prove a point that he can be the starter of the future.

The Giants made it clear this offseason that they were looking heavily at the quarterback market in the 2024 NFL Draft. Though their trade opportunities were unsuccessful, for one reason or another, to move up in the draft, they still provided Jones with help in the form of Malik Nabers.

There's no denying Jones needs a big season to prove he belongs in New York for the remainder of his contract so it will be interesting to see how everything unfolds in 2024.
