COSHOCTON − The Coshocton County Sheriff's Office assisted the Holmes County Sheriff's Office with a high-speed pursuit on Tuesday. The incident occurred shortly before 8:30 p.m. with the vehicle entering Coshocton County on County Road 19 in Clark Township.

Authorities said deputies joined the pursuit on Ohio 83, near County Road 24. The vehicle turned westbound on U.S. 36, heading toward Warsaw, reaching speeds of 90 mph. Spike strips were deployed just before Warsaw and the passenger tires were deflated, according to a news release.

The vehicle then continued through Warsaw at slower speeds. It attempted to turn right onto Township Road 340 and was stopped there by authorities, the release said. The male driver was taken into custody by the Holmes County Sheriff's Office. A female passenger in the vehicle was released on scene.

Prince's Wrecker Service assisted on scene. The driver's name is being withheld pending the filing of formal charges.
