Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah has been sent a cheeky transfer offer by Wrexham co-owner Ryan Reynolds.

Reynolds and Rob McElhenney want to get the club into the Premier League and have turned the club into a global brand thanks to the documentary series "Welcome to Wrexham". The club, which is now in League One, is about to start its journey in the third tier of English football.

Reynolds is promoting his latest film, Deadpool and Wolverine, with co-star Hugh Jackman. He was being interviewed by the Premier League (a clip which was shared on X/Twitter), when Salah came up. The Egyptian was being compared to Jackman, on the theme of professionalism and longevity.

"Salah, to even be in the same sentence as you is incredibly cool! " Jackman said, adding: "And I went to see you by the way when we were filming - playing against Crystal Palace. I think you're awesome and I think you're amazing, and please, please, please respond to my DMs! ".

Then, looking directly at the camera, Reynolds said: "Mo you would be warmly embraced at the Racecourse Ground in North Wales," adding: "Think about it."

While there is no chance of Wrexham signing Salah, Reynolds and McElhenney have been busy in the transfer market. They have pulled off a string of impressive signings , with manager Phil Parkinson recently declaring there would likely be more to come before jetting off on their US tour.

Speaking earlier this month, after signing Charlton captain George Dobson alongside goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo and center-back Lewis Brunt, manager Parkinson said: "That's three so far and we are just assessing other options. We are in talks with a number of players. Some may happen and some may not.

"I don't want to put a number on how many more signings. We are just looking at the players in training and piecing the squad together.

"It's like a jigsaw and you want to get that right; make sure we have got that strength in depth in all areas with the quality we are going to need in a very competitive division."

The Red Dragons, who are preparing for life in League One, the third tier of English soccer, have since signed two more players. Defender Sebastian Revan and goalkeeper Callum Burton recently joined to make it five summer signings so far.
