The Tennessee Vols are among the top four schools for 2025 four-star safety CJ Jimcoily, but it appears unlikely that UT will earn a commitment from him.

Jimcoily, 6-foot-3/205 lbs from Nashville, TN, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 33 safety in the nation and the No. 11 player in the state of Tennessee.

LSU, Stanford, Alabama, and Tennessee are the top for programs for Jimcoily, who is set to announce his commitment on August 8.

The Lipscomb Academy standout was teammates with several current Vols when they were in high school.

"They have a lot of my teammates down there," said Jimcoily to Vol Report earlier this spring. "Edwin Spillman balled out in the spring game, and they also have Kaleb Beasley and Nate Spillman, all guys that came from Lipscomb Academy, so I definitely have my eyes on them."

"I have leaned on those guys when it comes to Tennessee," added Jimcoily. "I know I can get a real picture and a real image because every school is going to try to show you their best things, their highlight tape, but with the players, they can tell you the real stuff. So I lean to KB, Edwin and Nate to see what they have to say."

It doesn't appear that those relationships are going to be enough to sway Jimcoily to Tennessee.

According to Rivals.com national recruiting analyst Sam Spiegelman, the battle for Jimcoily is expected to come down to Stanford and LSU. And it appears that the Tigers have the momentum ahead of his decision.

"Jimcoily made official visits to Palo Alto and Baton Rouge last month, and this decision is expected to come down to the Cardinal and the Tigers," noted Spiegelman this week . "LSU has been trending up with the Rivals250 safety ever since his official visit to campus."

You never say never in recruiting. But it looks like the Vols are going to come up short in this battle.
