Pat McAfee Releases Electric Announcement Letting Football Fans Know He’s Returning To ‘College GameDay’

PAT IS BACK. In a way, McAfee never really left. The undeniable media star had just waited to re-up on a contract with ESPN to once again be an analyst for ESPN's highly popular College GameDay show. And though many figured that the energetic personality - and host of The Pat McAfee Show - would eventually confirm he'd be a part of the ESPN mainstay, there had been a lot of speculation about him being part of the show in the last couple of months. An article featured in The Athletic last year surveyed readers and found that basically 50% of the focus group wasn't a huge fan of Pat McAfee's antics. According to some answers, many college football fans didn't like the loose, "wrestling-like" energy that the former Colts punter brought to a show that was traditionally more buttoned up. Pat, as he often handles criticism, took the news head on and responded in a way only he can - while revealing that the response played into him not resigning for 2024: “To the 49%, I have some great news.. I have heard you all very loud and clear since the beginning of my stint with GameDay. It’s one of the biggest reasons why I have not resigned a contract with the legendary show. However, seemingly out of nowhere this morning, Pat McAfee posted a hype video of his highlights over the years with College GameDay , of which he's been a part of in some form or fashion since 2022 (with a couple of guest appearances in 2019 and 2020).
