Of all the farm animals in all the world, I would have to say that alpacas are some of my favorites. It's hard to resist their sweet little faces (though some of them are definitely more interested in socializing with humans than others). Baby alpacas are even cuter than their fully grown counterparts, but then again, isn't that true of all baby animals?

The one in this TikTok video is brand new to the world — so new, in fact, that he's still learning how to function (and making the most adorable noises while he does). Fortunately, his mama is staying close, just in case he needs a little bit of help.

This video shared by Natterjack Alpacas on Monday, July 22 shows this baby alpaca — whose name is, adorably enough, Sherbet Lemon — trying to figure out how to sit up. There's definitely a learning curve here, because he does keep falling over... but he's clearly doing his best!

And maybe I'm imagining it, but I feel like his mama is already looking so proud of him, especially once he is finally able to sit up for a few seconds at a time without toppling to the side. And can we talk about those little honk noises he's making?!

In a comment, the original poster explained that this is normal behavior, and that Sherbet Lemon was only "a few seconds" old when this video was taken. "They have to get up and running instantly in Peru. You can see mama’s instincts also telling her to look around for predators," they wrote.

This stage didn't last for long, either. In another comment, they said, "he was up, feeding and running around within an hour."

    Way to go, Sherbet Lemon!

    More About Natterjack Alpacas

The little one in this video (and his mama) live on a farm in West Lancashire in England, which not only breeds and sells alpacas but also offers fans of the animals to visit and get up close and personal with them.

If you love these fluffy animals and happen to be in the area, what they're offering is pretty cool — you can book a private experience in a small group to spend time with the alpacas while those who work at the farm teach you more about them. All the alpacas you've encountered have been trained and enjoy being around people, making it all the more fun. You'll be able to feed and even cuddle the alpacas. Honestly, what could be better?

I'm hoping that the farm shares more footage of Sherbet Lemon as he grows. He's such a sweetie already!
