Wait, How Much Is Celine Dion Getting Paid to Perform at the Paris Olympics?

Rumor had it that Celine Dion was set to pocket a cool $2 million if she were to perform at Friday’s 2024 Paris Olympics opening ceremony . But Page Six just spilled the tea on why that's not happening.

Turns out, no one's getting paid for their performances at the Paris 2024 Games. An Olympics spokesperson told the outlet, "Contrary to some media reports, the performers at the Paris 2024 Games ceremonies will not receive a fee for their performance."

The spokesperson added, “Their decision to perform under these conditions reflects their desire to be part of a historic event for France and for the world of sports.”

So while Dion, 56, won’t rake in a major payday for her rumored performance, (a spokesperson has yet to confirm that it's happening), Olympic organizers are still handling all the technical production costs and other performance expenses.

Again, there's been no official word from Dion's team that she is set to perform, but an insider spilled to Page Six that she’s expected to do so. If she does, this would be her first public performance in years.

Taking into consideration Dion’s net worth —which is estimated to be around $800 million—the previously reported $2 million dollar paycheck for the Paris Olympics is just a small drop in the bucket.

For anyone looking for clues that Dion will, in fact, perform, she posted from the city of light on Wednesday, July 24–just two days before the opening ceremony is set to take place.

“Every time I return to Paris, I remember there’s so much beauty and joy still to experience in the world,” she captioned a series of photos of herself in and around the city’s Louvre Museum. “I love Paris, and I’m so happy to be back! Thank you to our wonderful friends at The Louvre!”

    Dion signed off, “-Celine xx.”

Here's hoping the legendary singer makes an appearance.
