'I voted' sticker contest brings out cats, werewolves and Lions submissions

Michigan's citizens have a consequential vote to place this year.

What sticker should voters receive in November's election?

The end of July marks the deadline to vote for your favorite "I voted" stickers designed by Michigan elementary, middle and high school students. There's also a category for submissions sent in by the general public. You can place your votes here until July 31, according to the Michigan Department of State. The state received more than 480 submissions and narrowed down to the top 25 for all three categories.

Designs include what appears to be a werewolf ripping its shirt off drawn by Jane Hynous, a student at Brownell Middle School in Grosse Pointe; a sticker declaring "I'm cool, I voted" designed by Katelyn Stouffer-Hopkins, of Lansing, and multiple that show iconic state lighthouses.

The "I voted" sticker competition isn't a new idea.

Other states have engaged in the tradition and have ended up with iconic designs voted in by their citizenry. Maricopa County, the largest county in Arizona, ended up with a colorful Gila monster (a species of lizard) sticker , while Ulster County in New York voted in a spirited illustration of a human head on a spider's body .
