KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — More than $7,000 was raised to support HIV care in East Tennessee and beyond during Positively Living’s inaugural Dining Out For Life and Pride Month fundraisers.
Throughout June, Positively Living partnered with several restaurants to raise money for its Hope Fund including Abridged Burger Truck, Abridged Oak Room, Bistro at the Bijou, Brother Wolf, Farmacy, Frothy Monkey, Harvest Downtown, South Press, Sticky Rice Café and Xul Beer Company. The Hope Fund helps Positively Living clients cover unforeseen costs that make it difficult to maintain HIV medication.

“It’s going directly to our Hope Fund, which helps our clients really focus on their health journey, and so when things come up like maybe they blew a tire and they’re not able to get to doctor’s appointments, we’re able to assist in the little complications that life can sometimes give us,” said Angela Bartlett, senior director of development and marketing for Positively Living and Choice Health Network.
“Knoxville showed incredible support for Dining Out For Life, our LGBTQ+ community and small businesses this June,” said Steve Jenkins, CEO of Positively Living & Choice Health Network. “The proceeds will significantly impact our Hope Fund, allowing our 6,000+ clients statewide to focus on their health and wellbeing.”
“We are profoundly grateful to everyone who dined, drank and made a difference. A heartfelt thank you to the participating businesses that made our first Dining Out For Life a resounding success.”
Positively Living plans to host Dining Out For Life again in June 2025. Those interested in participating can contact Angela Bartlett at angela@positively-living.org.
