NBA on TNT will enter its final year in the 2024-25 season after Amazon Prime outbid the network for the rights of the league coverage.

Following the news of the network's iconic Inside the NBA finale with Shaquille O'Neal, Ernie Johnson, Kenny Smith, and Charles Barkley, NBA fans took to social media to share their initial reactions.

The consensus in the NBA community seems extremely upset since the future of the show is in jeopardy.

"And just like that Inside The NBA on TNT is gone after next season. Gonna miss Shaq, Chuck, Kenny and Ernie together on TNT. The NBA wins with this deal but the fans lose," said former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III.

"I know you’re supposed to try smile because it happened, not be sad because it’s over…. But losing the NBA on TNT hurts," said one fan.

"NBA on TNT gone but never forgotten," said another.

"Absolute garbage. NBA on TNT is the best. Way to lose viewership," commented another.

Fans are clearly disheartened by the NBA's decision, given the popularity of the show.

Inside the NBA began in 1989, and longtime host Ernie Johnson began his journey as the show's host in 1990. Smith joined the show in 1998, followed by Barkley in 2000, and O'Neal in 2011.

"Warner Bros. Discovery's most recent proposal did not match the terms of Amazon Prime Video's offer and, therefore, we have entered into a long-term arrangement with Amazon," per the NBA PR.

According to the Washington Post , the league's new deal is worth $76 billion for over 11 years.

With the league's new deal , the NBA Finals will stay on ESPN and ABC, while Amazon and NBC will take over TNT's rights for the rest of the NBA coverage.
