Jack Osbourne provided some new information about his journey with multiple sclerosis (MS) during a discussion on his family’s latest podcast episode.

Jack, 38, was first diagnosed with the neurological disease about 12 years ago. The reality TV star said he is currently “doing very well with my MS” during a taping of The Osbournes released on Tuesday, July 23. Jack shares the podcast with his father, Black Sabbath’s Ozzy Osbourne , his mother, Sharon , and his sister, Kelly .

The family’s conversation about MS was inspired by a fan-submitted question, which Kelly read aloud for Jack to consider. The fan had asked Jack for an update about his health journey and also inquired whether the father of four had ever considered tackling a podcast focused entirely on his experience with MS, as do some other celebrities who battle the disease, such as Dead to Me star Christina Applegate and The Sopranos alum Jamie-Lynn Sigler .

Jack began his response by providing a health update, explaining to fans that he hasn’t experienced “significant” MS symptoms “for a long time.” He was then sidetracked by a question posed by his father, who asked if Jack was keeping his symptoms under control with help from any medications. Jack indicated that his answer was a bit complicated.

“The short answer is no, the long answer is yes,” he said, going on to explain that he uses supplements and has “had some alternative therapy treatments over the years.”

“I do not take traditional MS medication currently,” Jack revealed. He recalled that he has “always leaned toward alternative therapies,” such as the biocellular treatment he recently underwent for his spine in Los Angeles.

Jack quickly added that he thinks there is “nothing wrong” with using more traditional treatments, which he said can produce “amazing results.”

“I think both together, when needed, is a great option,” Jack continued. “I just choose to not go down the route of pharmaceuticals for my MS right now. I’m absolutely open to it if needed.”
