Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark recently responded to a heartfelt message from Las Vegas Aces guard Kate Martin.

The Aces rookie shared a motivational speech with the Iowa Hawkeyes women's basketball team, putting slight pressure on the new roster to perform at a high level. The speech wound up getting over 11,300 likes in just over four hours.

"I keep thinking, like, why not just go all in? [In] our first Final Four, we had the mantra like, 'Why not us?' Why not show up every single day and work your [expletive] off and see what can happen?" Martin mused.

Clark then responded to Martin's fiery quote, replying to the Iowa women's basketball page on Instagram. "Gonna run thru a brick wall," she commented.

Martin, the second-round pick in the 2024 WNBA draft, plays a meaningful role for the defending WNBA champion Aces, posting 3.6 points and 2.0 rebounds in 14.3 minutes per game.

Clark was the star of the show in college, averaging 28.4 points and 8.2 assists during her four-year career with the Hawkeyes, but Martin served as the team's captain for four seasons. The two played four years together, leading the program to two straight national title appearances in 2023 and 2024.

They turned the women's basketball program into one of the most talked-about teams in sports. Martin believes the Hawkeyes can pick up where they left off, as long as they don't put limitations on themselves.

"For the rest of the summer, have the mindset, like, 'Why not? Why can't you guys go back to a Final Four? Why can't you guys win the Big Ten Championship again? Why not?'" Martin continued. "Don't put any limitations on who you can be and where you guys can go."
